Male Waxing

More and more men are starting to take up waxing. It has numerous benefits and these include:

  • Longer lasting than other methods.

  • Regrowth is softer and thinner. With time the hair thins completely.

  • Women in general find men with less hair more attractive.

  • Muscles and other things appear bigger.

  • Facial waxing makes you cleaner and more presentable at the business meetings or dinner.

I specialise in waxing males from head to toe. Many aestheticians refuse to work on men. I keep it professional and make you feel at home. My clients come from all walks of life and colour, single, gay, married, young and old.

Men who shave are now opting to avoid the itchy ‘five o’clock shadow’ and go for a longer-lasting, smoother solution. Swimmers and body-builders tend to get all of their body hair removed, especially before competition.

Personal preference, some guys hate body hair as much as some women!

Brazilian male (Manzillian) wax also known as BCS

Involves removing the hair from the areas surrounding the genitalia, the perineum, and in the cleft of the buttocks (around the anus).

Brazilian waxing for men is generally to feel clean and smooth.

Erection during waxing service? This is usually an adrenal response from the waxing service that you have no control over. It’s not a problem, as long as you treat me with respect and understand that I am a professional aesthetician. Any clients making suggestive remarks whether male or female, the waxing service will end, and full payment would be due whether the waxing was completed or not.

How Should I Prepare?

Apply some heat. By taking a warm, not hot shower or bath, or applying a warm compress right before waxing will open up the skin’s pores and soften the skin, allowing the hair follicles to come out easier (this is not always possible). This not only helps with the pain factor, but helping prevent irritation from the wax pulling on the skin.

  • Be clean. Come freshly showered.

  • Be dry. Cleanliness is appreciated, but please skip on the lotion, you’ll get better results if your skin is less oily.

  • Be hairy. Your hair should be at least 0.6 cm in length (which makes it long enough to lay flat on your skin). Please don’t shave for at least two weeks prior to your appointment to ensure that your hair is long enough! Also, if you’ve ‘let it go’ down there please trim any longer hairs to the proper length prior to your appointment.

  • Be comfortable. If possible, wear loose clothing, if possible, that day to prevent irritation in the post-wax phase.

  • Be relaxed. Reportedly the more relaxed your muscles are, the better your hair removal results will be!

 Pre Wax Recommendations

It is best to lightly exfoliate the skin 24 hours or more prior to waxing if you are known to suffer from ingrown hairs.

It is not recommended to tan in the sun or solarium prior to waxing as this could cause severe peeling and skin irritation.

Pain helpers. Take Ibuprofen 30- 45 minutes before your appointment if you’re worried about pain. Limit caffeine for several hours prior to appointment.

Wax aftercare:

Cautious things to do in the first 48 hours after your waxing.

  • No hot baths

  • No swimming or sunbathing

  • No heat or UV treatments like sun beds or saunas

  • No tight clothing

  • No perfumed products including deodorant, anti-perspirant, self-tanner, lotions, or make up

  • No touching scrubbing or rubbing the area.

  • No intensive exercise

  • No Sexual intercourse if waxing the genitals.

We also recommend moisturising cream and other products that we are happy to talk to you about.
